Ms. Melinda Joyce Flippen departed this life on Thursday evening, January 26, 2023.
As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, she attended the local public schools and was a former employee of Mc Donald’s.
Her parents, Rose Ann Flippen Fountain and George Junior Fountain; brother, Fredrick Fountain and George J. Fountain, Jr., preceded her in death.
During her leisure, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with family.
Survivors are: loving sons, Robert and Roger Aikens; 3 grandchildren; sisters, Iva Palmer, Vella Cannon, Vander Carter, Melissa Haynes, Leann Watlington (Eric), Chandy Fountain and Susan Hairston; brothers, Ivory Flippen, Wayne Fountain and Jason Hairston; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 from the chapel of Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street. Public viewing will be Friday afternoon at Johnson & Sons.
