Matthew Scott Hall, 31, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022.

A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Dalton L. McMichael High School with Bishop William Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hall Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, December 28, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home.

Matt was born in Rockingham County on April 4, 1991, to Lee Holland and Sabrina Hall. He attended McMichael High School and later attended the Fire Academy. He was heavily involved in service with the Fire Departments and EMS. Matt worked for Summerfield Fire Dept., Walnut Cove Fire Dept., Stokes-Rockingham Fire Dept., Bethany Fire Dept., the Swift Water Rescue, Rockingham County EMS, Eden Rescue Squad, and Madison Rescue Squad. He also worked for Carelink and taught classes at both Rockingham Community College and Forsyth Technical Community College.

Those left to cherish his memory are his Mother, Sabrina Hall of Mayodan; his father, Lee Holland of Stoneville; his sister, Kelsey Holland (Ryan) of Pine Hall; his brother, Jarrett Holland of Madison; grandmothers, Faye Hall and Sue Holland; Grandfather, William Hall (Wanda); Aunts, Dawn Holland, Jessica Chamblee, and Tracie Shreve; Uncles, David Holland, Alvin Chamblee, Roger Shreve, and Dowell Hall; special niece, Lakyn Ross; nieces, Alisa Chamblee and Nevaeh Chamblee; cousins, Dallas Holland, Dawson Holland, and Slate Shreve; special friends, Casey Welborn, Ayden Murphy, Nathan Bishop, and Alex Ball; and numerous other friends, coworkers, and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Madison Rockingham Rescue Squad, 204 E Murphy Street, Madison, NC 27025 or to Summerfield Fire Department, 7400 Summerfield Road, Summerfield, NC 27358.
