On Friday, October 21st, 2022, Matthew Sanford Shelton, a beloved father, brother, son, and friend passed away unexpectedly at the age of 32.
Matthew was born on July 7th, 1990, in Winston-Salem, NC. He was a highly skilled mechanic, and everyone came to him for their vehicle repairs. He met the love of his life, Randi Southard, in 2008. Together they had their beautiful daughter, Emma Shelton. They share many loving memories together. His daughter meant everything to him and is often what kept him going. While his passion was working on vehicles, he enjoyed giving people a hard time, joking around, and was always full of laughter.
He is survived by his parents Chris and Tabitha Shelton; brothers Allan Mabe (Tiffany Fleming), Christopher Shelton (Runt), and Lucas Clayton (Olivia Clayton); sisters Caitlin Buckler, Heavon Ratcliff, and Shanice Mabe; nephew Levi Shelton; nieces Kambree Phillips and Quinleigh Clayton; uncle Michael Shelton; and grandfather Eugene Shelton.
He is proceeded in death by brother Andrew Shelton; grandmothers Elizabeth Shelton and Mary Moffitt; Aunt Anna Barker; and great-grandmother Virginia Moffitt.
Even with many trials and tribulations, Matthew always stayed positive. In his daughter’s eyes, he was a hero and irreplaceable. Many will greatly miss him and his stamp on this world will forever remain.
A service will be held by the family. Time and date TBA.
