Matthew “Matt” Alex Hopkins, 28, left this earthly life, Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at his home.
The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon Monday, May 29, 2023, followed by a 2 p.m. Celebration of Life Service at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Interment will be held at the Cedar Falls Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Matthew was born on September 21, 1994, in Forsyth County, to Judy Fulk Hopkins and the late Kendrick “Kenny” Hopkins. He was a 2013 graduate of North Stokes High School and was an employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Division, a Control Room Specialist. He had been awarded many trophies and was an avid fan of UNC Tar Heels Basketball, the Miami Heat, LSU Tigers Football, Los Angeles Chargers, Golf, Atlanta Braves, and MMA. Matt simply loved sports. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Helen Hopkins and Earlie Fulk
Matthew is survived by his mother, Judy F. Hopkins (fiancé Roger); sister, Dr. Kendra Hopkins Maneval (Shane); grandmother, Anna Brown Fulk; and a special canine friend, Cooper.
