Mary Jane Sorrell Dillard, 69, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, surrounded by her family at Gibson House/Ancora Compassionate Care.
She was born July 13, 1955 to Annie Mae Tilley Sorrell and the late Rommie Sorrell in Stuart, VA. Mary was a homemaker, raising her five children with unconditional love and devotion.
In her younger years, she enjoyed tending her garden and canning vegetables. Mary loved spending time in her various flower beds and their beauty. She spent countless hours at flea markets searching for antiques and other special finds. She was a special, loving lady, called most everyone baby and will be missed by all that knew her. Mary was a member of Stokesdale Baptist Church for many years.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Mitchell Willard and his wife, Teresa Richmond; sisters, Susan Bradshaw and Ronda Craig; grandson, Brandon Willard and step-father, Ernest Bullins.
Left to treasure her memory, husband of thirty-eight years, Tom Dillard; mother, Annie Mae Bullins; brothers, Jerry Sorrell (Carol), Tommy Sorrell (Wanda), Johnny Sorrell, Rodney Sorrell (Renee) and Patrick Gray (Danielle); sisters, Tammy Willard (Harry) and Robin Gray; children, Scott Willard (Leighanne), Ashley Chatham (Maurry), TR Dillard (Heather) and Kevin Dillard; grandchildren, Adam Richmond, Shawn Willard, Joe Willard, Cody Dillard, Joshua Emory, Matthew Emory, Brayden Dillard, Tyler Dillard, Hayley Dillard, Paisley Dillard, Lilly Chatham, and Paislynn Dillard.
