Mary Frances Kimbro Bratton, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at East Side Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Davis officiating. The family will receive friends half an hour prior to the service.
Mary was born in Rockingham County on January 9, 1930, to the late Jay E. and Effie Vaughn Kimbro. She married Raymond E Bratton on November 23, 1950. She graduated from Ruffin High School in 1948 and Kings Business College in 1950. She worked as a secretary early on and ended her career eventually retiring from the Belk Department Store in Reidsville, NC. Her favorite past times were quilting, crafts, crocheting, and puzzles. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Raymond E. Bratton; son, William Timothy Bratton; sisters, Emma K. Warren, Mable K. Padgett, Joann K. Tate, and Elizabeth K. Talley; brothers, E. Lee Kimbro and Thomas E. Kimbro.
Mary is survived by her son, Randy E. Bratton of Ahoskie; daughter-in-law, Carolyn C. Bratton (Tim) of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, William S. Bratton (Sara) of Dunn and Emily B. Woo (Patrick) of Nashville, TN; twin great grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Bratton and Michael Timothy Bratton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastside Baptist Church at 1859 Barnes Street, Reidsville, NC 27320 or Reidsville Nutrition Center “Meals with friends” at 102 North Washington Ave, Reidsville, NC 27320.
