Obituary: MARY EMMA McMILLAN MARKS

Mary Emma McMillan Marks, 87, died on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Gibson House Hospice.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2025 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held privately at Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Marks was born on March 1, 1937 in Darlington County, South Carolina to the late James Copeland McMillan and Anna Eunice Beasley McMillan. She worked for TG&Y and as a LPN at Western Rockingham Family Medicine, where her compassion and dedication touched many lives. Mary found joy in fishing, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and traveling. She was also a devoted pet lover, always caring for her dogs with the same warmth she showed her beloved family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Marks; daughter, Vickie Marks Connolly and brother, Bill McMillan.

Survivors include her son, Vincent Marks (Linda); son-in-law, Michael Connolly; grandchildren, Michaela Blankenship (Brad), Bailey Marks and Bryan Marks; great-grandchildren, Reece and Cooper Blankenship and brother, Neal McMillan.
