It is with our great sadness and heavens great joy, our beloved sister, Mary Craig Peters went home to be with her Savior on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at True Gospel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the church.

Mary was born on December 25, 1939 in Stokes County to the late Anthony Thomas Craig and Versie Bell Cook Craig. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of True Gospel Baptist Church. Her love for her Lord, family and church was an inspiration to all that knew her. Mary’s hobbies included crossword puzzles and going out to eat with her loving family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-three years, Calvin H. Peters; brother, Thomas Junior Craig; sister, Nancy Craig; nephew, Benny Mabe and special friend and companion, Wesley Johnson.

She is survived by her four sisters, Mildred Craig, Hazel Hopper, Doris Minter (Maxie) and Janice Pavy (Joey) and brother, Gary Craig.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Cardinal Hospice and the therapy staff at Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation for their wonderful care.
