Obituary: MARVIN LEWIS HARDEN

Marvin Lewis Harden, 83, went to be with his Lord on Monday, April 15, 2024, at his residence.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 20, 2024, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Harden officiating. A private enurnment will follow the service at the First Baptist Church Columbarium. The family will see friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the First Baptist Church.

A native of Guilford Co., Marvin was a son of the late James Paul and Myrtie Maness Harden and he had lived in Reidsville for the past 53 years. He was a retired self-employed carpenter, a member of the First Baptist Church and he enjoyed driving around his farm on the golf cart. Marvin loved riding the grandchildren around the farm and just walking in the woods. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Bennie Paul Harden and by a sister, Ruby Harden Shelton.

Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Gray Harden of the home, 2 sons, Rev. Ryan Harden (Sarah) of Reidsville and Nathaniel Harden (Angela) of Reidsville, brothers, Larry Harden (Carleen) of Greensboro and Dr. Bill Harden (Becky) of Wilmington, sister, Betty Harden Smith (Eddie) of Reidsville, grandchildren, Matthew Harden, Samuel Harden, Hannah Harden, Caleb Harden, Joseph Harden, and Tasha Martin, great grandchildren, James Dean Martin and Claire Martin.
