Martha Ann Brown Joyce, 72, died Friday, June 14, 2024, at Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Martha Ann was born on March 16, 1952, in Stokes County, to the late Monroe and Ruth Mabe Brown. She is of the Baptist faith and a member of Closer Walk church. Martha was a devoted wife and mother who loved “hanging out” with friends. When health permitted, she enjoyed gardening, and working in her flowers. Her favorite pastime was watching TV and sitting outside watching the traffic.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Ray Joyce; brothers, Dink, James, and Larry Wayne Brown; and a sister, Shirley East.
Survivors include sons, Kenny Ray Joyce and Richard Lee Joyce; brother, Roger Brown; and sisters, Elsie East, Kathy Dennison, and Josephine Lawson; three granddaughters, Amber Lawless, Brooke Joyce, and Addyson Joyce and a great-granddaughter Harper Lawless.
Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
