Obituary: MARILYN VADEN HODGE NANCE

Marilyn Vaden Hodge Nance, 93, died on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison and all other times at the home of Doug Hodge, 124 Megan Forest Rd., Stoneville.

Mrs. Nance was born on February 5, 1931 in Rockingham County to the late Albert Vaden and Beulah Grogan Vaden. She retired from Gem-Dandy and enjoyed walking in Mayodan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Woody Hodge; son, Don Hodge; second husband, Jack Nance; sisters, Era Amos and Clara Davis; brothers, Odell, Robert Lee, Franklin, Horace, Raymond, J.C. and Paul Vaden.

Survivors include her son, Doug Hodge (Gwen); grandchildren, Skyler Hodge (Lina), Savanna Hodge and Courtney Hodge; sister, Gladys Mays and many extended family members.
