Obituary: MARILYN E BELL

Marilyn Bell of Madison, 87, formerly of New Lenox, IL, departed this earthly life on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Countryside Manor in Stokesdale.
Mrs. Bell was born in Joliet, IL to the late John Gourn and Helen Salato Gourn. She was married to Robert Bell, who predeceased her in 1997. Marilyn exhibited her loving concern and care for everyone with thirty years of service as a registered nurse at St. Joe’s Hospital. She also worked at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet. She was a dedicated member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church. She and her husband, Bob enjoyed traveling, especially vacationing in Florida.
Survivors include her daughters, Lynn Travis (Dean) of Madison and Dawn McHale (Bruce) of New Lenox, IL; grandchildren, Chad Bell (Tabatha), Katie Bell, Amber Spencer (Matt), Blake Travis, Dylan McHale and Jimmy McHale (Megan); great-grandchildren, Paislyn, James, Aidan, and Adrianna; sisters, Peggy Bell of Texas and Karen Swenson of Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Craig Bell.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
