

Marie Joy Dye Stratton, 85, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Saturday February 1, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness.
A native of Rockingham County, she was a daughter of the late Dillard Glenn and Lillian Randolph Coe Dye and had lived in Rockingham County most of her life. She was a retired employee of Burlington Industries – Reidsville Drapery Plant and was a member of Baptist Temple Church. Joy enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. She was a devoted and loving mother. A devout Christian, she raised her daughters in a faith filled home and led by example. To know Joy was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Thurston Stratton, brother: Morris “Buddy” Dye, half-brother Dillard Glenn Dye, Jr., great granddaughter: Addison Star Austin, and her son-in-law: Floyd E. Caulder, Sr.
Survivors include her daughters: Deborah S. Moore (Nootsie), Renée S. Caulder, Reata S. Hamilton (Gary), and Darlene S. Chapmon (Tony), grandchildren: Josh Austin (Starlett), Jake Austin, Justin Maynard (Danielle), Heather Hamilton, Brittany Chapmon, Kamryn Setliff (Abe), sixteen great grandchildren and her twin sister: Mary Jane Walker.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Joy’s caregivers: Mildred, Rebecca, Pat, Sherri, Linda, and Chris for the love and care they provided to our momma.
