Obituary: MARGARET EDWARDS THOMAS

Margaret Edwards Thomas, 79, died on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Moses Cone Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Chatham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the church and all other times at the home.

Mrs. Thomas was born on January 3, 1946 in Forsyth County. Margaret was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, a place she held dear to her heart. She was a talented cook and baker and will forever be remembered for her sincere love for her family and putting others first.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” Edwards and Bessie Plummer Edwards.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, William “Billy” Thomas; sister, Linda Southern (Bud); special niece, Tosha Shemo (Robert); special nephew, Wayne Southern (Brandy); great-nieces and great-nephews, Dylan Southern, Christian Southern, Peyton Southern, Mackenzie Southern, Wayne Southern, Jr., Callie Southern, Allison Shelton, Emily Shelton, Connor Dickey, Christian Shemo and Brandon Shemo; brothers-in-law, Burton Thomas (Margie) and Jimmy Thomas (Marcia); special family friends, Todd and Angie Parsons and David and Wendy Welch and many extended family members and friends.
