Obituary: MALISSA McCAIN HAIRSTON

Mrs. Malissa Mc Cain Hairston, the beloved wife of Silver Hairston, Jr., departed this life on Wednesday morning, April 12, 2023. As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, she attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Reidsville Senior High School, Class of 1987. Spiritually, she was a faithful member of Assembly Faith Ministries where she served with the Board of Ushers and Gospel Choir. Malissa was a retiree of the Rockingham County School System.

Her parents, Sallie Mc Cain Summers and Henry Harvey Summers, preceded her in death.

Survivors are: beloved husband, Silver Hairston, Jr.; children, John G. Penn, Jr., Jammica R. Hairston and Jamiah T. Hairston; brothers, Henry H. Summers, Jr. and Kenneth L. Summers; sister, Kim Summers; aunts, Patricia Neal (Willie), Willie Mae Mc Cain, Bernice Christian and Jeneretta Wilson; uncles, James A. Mc Cain, Walter D. Mc Cain and Jeffery C. Mc Cain (Shirley); sister-in-law, Annie Hairston Walker (Terry); brothers-in-law, Jeffery Hairston (Tammy) and Ricky Hairston (Kimberly); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 from the Cornerstone Christian Center, 516 North Scales Street with Bishop Ron Flack, Jr. presiding.
