Maggie “Louise” Turner Shelton, 90, of Danbury, left this earthly life Thursday, July 13, 2023, at home.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, at Snow Hill United Methodist Church with interment following in the church cemetery.
Louise was born June 6, 1933, in Stokes County, to the late Henry Sylvester Turner and Nannie Brown Turner. She was a faithful member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church and retired from Unifi, Inc. with 30+ years of service. She loved gardening, sewing and baking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Millard Shelton (Billy); son, Billy Ray Shelton; grandson, Billy Ray Shelton, Jr., sisters, Phoebe T. Ayres and Pauline T. Shields: and son-in-law, Harold “JR” Rose.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy S. Meadows; a very special grandson, Jonus M. Meadows; brother, Paul (Earlene Turner), of Stuart, VA., sister, Geneva ( Junior) Cregger, of Walnut Cove; a daughter-in-law, one granddaughter; two great-granddaughters. Also left to cherish her memory are three special ladies, Sondra Frye, Margaret Carter, and Eunice Comer.
The family with receive friends others times at the residence.
Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
