Mackenzie Overby Gibbs, 36, of Reidsville passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church, formerly Ashland Road Missionary Baptist Church, 1744 Ashland Road, Ruffin, NC 27326. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 pm before the service at the church.
Mackenzie was born in Reidsville on March 18, 1986. He worked as a lineman for Maztec and previously for Pike. He was an outdoors man, enjoying kayaking, spending time on rivers and lakes, and anything that involved four wheels, mud and getting dirty. He also enjoyed working out at the gym.
He is survived by his son, Waylon Gibbs of Ruffin; his stepsons, Hunter Hundley, Braxton Hundley, Landon Hundley; his mother, Tammy Overby Worley and husband Ronnie of Reidsville; his father, Mark Hopkins Gibbs and wife Tracy; his maternal grandfather, Larry Overby of Reidsville; his paternal grandmother, Joanna Gibbs of Reidsville; his stepmother, Jayne Gibbs of Ruffin; his siblings, Tayla Edwards (Johnathan) of Reidsville, Justin Gibbs, Samantha Worley; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and many other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ashley Bibee Gibbs; his maternal grandmother, Carolyn Overby and his paternal grandfather, Gene Gibbs.
