Mabel Case Frye, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 22, 2022, at her home.
A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Ray Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mabel was born in Rockingham County on May 28, 1927, to the late Paul Case, Sr., and Lucy Kallam Case. She was a member of Riverside Church of the Living God and was a devout Christian. She loved attending church until her health declined when she had to give up two of the hardest things, driving and going to church. Mabel was a lifetime servant and would help anyone in need. She loved children and helped raise many throughout her lifetime in addition to her own three.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Newell; her second husband, Roy Frye, Jr.; and her brothers, Thomas, David, Paul, Sr., Raymond, and Bubba Case.
Surviving are her three children, Pamela K. Triplett (Henry) of Winston Salem, Don Anthony Newell (Deborah) of Mayodan, and Derek Newell (Brandi Justice) of Jamestown; her brother, Howard Case (Claire) of Madison; her sister, Viola Westler of California; seven grandchildren, Bryon, Shara, Laura, Mikey, Jacob, Josh, and Madison; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
