Louise A. McGrath, 90, died on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Mrs. McGrath was born on November 5, 1934 in Albany, New York. Louise was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth McGrath for sixty-six years, who bravely served in the Army during the Korean War. A devoted mother, she raised three children and cherished her role as a grandmother to eight grandchildren and “Grammie” to twelve great-grandchildren.
Louise dedicated her professional life as a receptionist at Pineview Pre-School in Albany, NY, where she touched the lives of many young children. Her commitment to her community was evident through her years of volunteering as a bus captain for Pineview Community Church, where she brought inner-city children to church every Sunday. Every Saturday, she canvassed neighborhoods, engaging with families and offering support where it was needed.
An unwavering prayer warrior, Louise prayed daily for her family and friends, demonstrating her deep faith and love. She was also a talented seamstress, known for creating beautiful clothes, quilts, and wedding dresses. Louise generously shared her skills by teaching sewing to her nieces and neighborhood children, leaving a lasting legacy of love and creativity.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth George McGrath and son, David Kenneth McGrath.
