Louise Dye McCollum, 101, lifetime resident of Rockingham County went home to be with The Lord, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Three River Health and Rehabilitation with her loving family by her side.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Pleasantville Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor C.J. Keister. The family will receive friends at her home (1581 Pannel Road, Madison, NC) starting after 2:00 PM on Friday.
Louise was born in Rockingham County to the late Ham and Fannie Dye. She worked faithfully by her husband’s side on the family farm. She loved the hours she spent in her garden growing vegetables and flowers. She was a longtime and faithful member of Comer’s Chapel for many years. Louise always enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Earl McCollum; her devoted son Ronald McCollum; one sister and three brothers. Louise looked forward to her reunion with her husband, son, and family members in Heaven.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Shearl Hardison and husband Clif; daughter-in-law Joann McCollum; grandchildren Ronald McCollum, Jr. and wife Sally, Kristi Roberson and husband Jason, Megan McCollum, Misti McCombs and husband Keith; bonus granddaughter Amy Emerson and husband Paul; great grandchildren Reid Roberson, Tanner McCombs and Ryan Roberson; bonus great grandson Brooks Emerson; sister Hazel Dye Bretting and a large extended family.
