Loretta Pyron Dickerson, 87, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Monday, December 25, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 29, 2023, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Roberts officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 28th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Loretta was born in Rockingham County to the late John Peyton Pyron and Gracie Lovelace Pyron. She was a hard worker all of her life and retired from Cone Mills with 30 years of service. She was an excellent cook, loved country music and dancing. Loretta attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Eden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Karen Myrick and Debra Denny.
She is survived by her husband, Donald “Duck” Dickerson; sons, David Lee Finney and Norman Dale Finney (Susan); daughter, Carolyn Kimrey (Eric), stepsons, Donald Ray Dickerson and James Ira Dickerson; grandchildren, Shannon Pinnix (Donnie) , Donna DeLapp (Paige), Tabitha Guzman (Moran), Christina Finney, Amanda Finney, Brad Denny, Amanda Bare and Arica Kimrey; numerous great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; half-sister, Betty Pruitt.
