Lonnie Wayne Land, Sr., 79, of Stoneville passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 11 am at Ridge-View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 10 until 11 am at Boone and Cooke Funeral Home.
Lonnie was born in Rockingham County on May 11, 1943, a son of John William Land and Jenny Roberts Land, both deceased. He retired from Blue Ox Lumber Company as a machine operator.
Lonnie is survived by his children, T.W. Land and wife, Jessica of Stoneville, Brenda Land Woods and husband, Anthony of Stoneville, Misty Land of Stoneville, Lynn Wilson and husband, Jerry of Madison, and Lynn Hall of Eden; his grandchildren, Jordan Woods, Jenna Woods, Breanna Muncy, Brittany Welch, Havana Land, Kelsey Sutphin and Sandy King and his great grandchildren, Lindsay Hodges, J.J. Woods, Tanner Woods, Ryland Rose Muncy, Mikenna Woods, Peyton Sutphin, Kaylee Sutphin and Landon Sutphin.
In addition to his parents, Lonnie was predeceased by his wife, Doris Hall Land; his sons, Lonnie “Wayne” Land Jr., and Benny Davis Land; his grandson, Christopher Watts; his brothers, Virgil Land, John Land, James Land, Dewey Land, Junior Land, Roy Land and Peanut Land and his sisters, Catherine Overby and Estelle Webb.
The family will receive friends at the home of his son, T.W. Land and wife, Jessica, 5709 Highway 770, Stoneville, NC 27048.
