Obituary: LLOYD “LJ” RHODES, JR

Lloyd “L.J.” Aaron Rhodes, Jr., 78, died on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Singletary officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Rhodes was born on March 3, 1946 in Rockingham County to Lloyd Aaron Rhodes, Sr. and Earlene Oakley Rhodes. He was a longtime member of Mt. Hermon Methodist Church and a retiree of Proctor & Gamble after twenty-eight years of service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Aaron Rhodes, Sr.; nephew, Devin Wayne Rhodes and brother, Jerry William Rhodes.

Survivors include his mother, Earlene Oakley Rhodes; brother, Douglas Wayne Rhodes (Kim); nephew, Damon Rhodes (Leslie); great-nephews, Kendrick and Kyle Rhodes; great-niece, Emma Rhodes as well as the Priddy and Oakley sisters.
