Linda Price Bennett, 79, died on Friday, September 2, 2022 at her home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bennett was born on July 5, 1943 in Rockingham County to the late Roy Price and Ethel Turner Price. Linda was a 1961 graduate of Bethany High School where she played basketball. She was a current member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church and a former member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church, where she served in the nursery, the church choir and the Women’s Society. Linda enjoyed gardening, crafting, attending her grandsons sporting events and water aerobics at the Spears YMCA. She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and beloved grandmother that impacted the lives of so many with her infectous smile and distinctable laugh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Price and David Price and sisters, Mary Wall, Lorraine Price and Annie Denson.
Survivors include her husband, Alexander Lawrence Bennett, Jr.; son, Alexander Lawrence Bennett, III “Larry” (Linda); daughter, Jamie Lee Bennett Flynt (Sam); grandchildren,, Nichole Bennett, Caitlin Bennett and Alex Flynt; brothers, Eli Price (Alice) and Thomas Price (Brenda); sisters, Audrey Sloane and Margaret Norris (Bobby) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, Flat Rock United Methodist Church or the Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
