Lilla “Faye” Gillie, 65, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, entered eternal rest Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Faye was born on March 6, 1959, in Rockingham County. She attended North Stokes High School and later received her GED.
She was a past employee of Unifi, Inc. Faye retired from McMichael Mills, Inc. with 24 years service. Never one to have idle hands, she was always busy taking care of the family, and kicking back with Adult coloring. She loved to cook, try new recipes, and most of all spend time with her granddaughter Remonia “Elizabeth” Gillie.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Paul Smith and Reva Smith Mabe; brother, Donald Wayne Smith, and sister, Mary Ann McBride.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Thomas “Wayne” Gillie; daughter, Tamela Gillie; granddaughter, Elizabeth Gillie, who was her greatest joy. Faye leaves behind her pet companion, Shilo.
The family will receive friends all other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Baptist Church.
Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel is serving the family.
