LeeRoy Gammon went to his eternal home on Monday, January 6th, 2025, at his home.
LeeRoy was born April 26, 1940, in Rockingham County to the late Dennis and Madgel Bray Gammon. He worked at Fieldcrest and Mohawk for a combined 30 years. He was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church. LeeRoy was a great father to his children and stepchildren. He took them fishing, hunting and coached them in softball and basketball. LeeRoy was an avid fan of the Carolina Tar Heels, the Red Skins, and Nascar. In his younger years he was a competitive athlete in softball and bowling.
LeeRoy is preceded in death by his son, Mike Gammon; his brothers, Ralph Gammon, Larry Gammon and Ray Gammon; his sisters, Ruby Jane Gammon and Carolyn Ann Gammon; and his niece, Donna Gammon.
LeeRoy is survived by his wife of 27 years, Frances Gammon; his children, Anthony Gammon and Renee Gammon; his stepchildren, Susan Shelton, Tony Evans, Mark Evans, Jeannie Moore, Chris Evans, Kathy Frazier and Linda Walker, who was also his caregiver; his grandchildren, April Powell and Tanya Coleman and four other grandchildren; his great grandchildren, Ashley, Jeremiah, Tyler and Carson and four other great grandchildren.
