Obituary: LEE MICHAEL CHANDLER

Lee Michael “Mike” Chandler, 81, of Mayodan, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Hospice of Rockingham County.

A 5:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at the Old Country Church with Pastor Donnie Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Mike was born in Rockingham County on April 20, 1942, to the late Johnny and Ellen Mozelle Manuel Chandler. He worked in textiles for many years prior to his retirement. Mike was a member of the Old Country Church where he loved attending and loved his church family. He also enjoyed the beach, camping, especially at Ocean Lakes, driving and working outdoors.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janice Shreve Chandler of the home; his children, Lee Chandler (Tammy) of Lexington, SC, Randy Chandler (Evonne) of Madison, Tina Chandler (David Shumate) of Madison, and Jeanie Chandler (Robert Recker) of Mayodan; his brother, Donnie Chandler of Stokesdale; three grandchildren, Andrew Chandler (Kristen), Will Chandler (Logan), and Michaela Chandler; one great grandchild, Kazuto Adam Chandler; and one on the way, Baby Chandler.
