Obituary: LARRY LUCAS

Larry Lane Lucas, 89, of Reidsville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Annie Penn Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Lawsonville Road Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Tuck officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening at the church from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at his brother Dwight’s home (2305 Richardson Drive, Reidsville).

Larry was born in Caswell County to the late Lloyd and Martha Stanley Lucas. In his early years he was an accomplished carpenter and later retired as the custodian and maintenance supervisor at Monroeton School with over 25 years of service. Larry was a longtime and faithful member of Lawsonville Road Baptist where he directed and sang in the choir. He also taught Sunday School for many years. Larry was a picture-perfect reflection of Jesus. Throughout his life, Larry enjoyed and performed Southern Gospel Music and was an avid Coon hunting fanatic. Larry was preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty Jean Lucas after over 50 years of marriage. Along with his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Wilma Compton Lucas.

Larry is survived by his brother Dwight Lucas; nephew Dusty Lucas and wife Katie; great nephew Gabriel Lucas; extended family and many friends.
