Larry Brinkley Ferguson, 80, died on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Ellisboro Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Winters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the committal at the grave and all other times at the home.

Mr. Ferguson was born on October 30, 1943 in Wilkes County to the late Larry Chapman Ferguson and Colen Marie Edmiston Ferguson. Larry served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a member of Ellisboro Baptist Church. His working career consisted of electrical and sawmill work and most recently, he owned and operated a landscaping business. In his younger years, Larry enjoyed fishing and hunting. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren, attending all of the events they participated in.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lowell Ferguson, Harold Ferguson, Douglas Ferguson and Wendell Ferguson and brothers-in-law, Otis Southern and Tommy Miller.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Gail Hartley Ferguson; sons, Larry Brinkley Ferguson, Jr. (Kelli) and Richard Louis Ferguson (Andrea); grandchildren, Ashlyn Grace Ferguson, Makinley Elizabeth Ferguson and Aiden Brinkley Ferguson; sisters, Edna Southern, Elizabeth Miller and Angelee Conrad (Douglas) and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
