Kenneth “Ken” Ray Searcy, 80, of Eden passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at his residence.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Dan View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 until 9:45 am Wednesday at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
Ken was born in Eden on October 14, 1941, a son of Samuel Elbert Searcy and Annie Gray Pruitt Searcy, both deceased. During his college years, he sold encyclopedias. He was retired from the US Postal Service serving as a mail carrier in the Draper area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Sherill Searcy.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife and soulmate, Agnes “Anya” Searcy; his nephew, Donald “Donnie” Searcy and wife Tina; his great nephews, Joseph and Matthew; and his dearest friend who was like a brother, William May.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Rockingham Humane Society, 205 Boone Road, Eden, NC 27288.
