Mr. Keegan James McDougal, age 30, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025 in Wilmington, NC.
Born in Glendale, West Virginia, Keegan spent the majority of his life in North Carolina, having moved there at the age of 4. He attended Reidsville High School and Rockingham Community College.
Keegan was a vibrant soul with a laugh that could brighten any room and a free spirit that inspired all who knew him. He was truly one of a kind and his compassion knew no bounds. He had a laugh that could warm even the coldest of hearts and a vibrant soul that brightened any
room. To his mother, Deanna McDougal, he was a testament to something perfectly right in life. Keegan’s passion for music and his talent for playing the guitar will forever resonate in the hearts of his loved ones.
He cherished the simple joys of life and displayed remarkable courage in every step he took. His adventurous nature and his love for music will be remembered with a smile and a tear. He had an incredible personality and he loved everybody with his whole heart. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled in our hearts. To his sister, Tia McDougal, Keegan was an incredible brother with the biggest heart she had ever known. We will hold onto the memories, laughter and love he shared with us and he will be forever in our hearts.
Keegan is preceded in death by his father, James McDougal and his sister Mikkel McDougal.
He is survived by his mother, Deanna McDougal (Reidsville), his sisters, Tia McDougal (Reidsville) and Micah Donai (Morgantown, WV), and his cherished nephews, Noah Tuttle and Oliver Lea (Reidsville).
Viewing will be private and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
