Obituary: KAYLA NICOLE CARTER

Kayla Nicole Carter, 24, of Eden passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, as the result of a car accident.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2 pm at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Goodwill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ridgeway, Virginia. The family will receive friends for 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home, from 12 until 2 pm and other times at the home.

Kayla was born in Eden on August 25, 2000, a daughter of Randy Taylor Snody and Jennifer Slaughter Snody. She worked as a bartender and waitress at Outback Steak house in Danville, VA. She was her Daddy’s “Pumpkin” and her Mama’s “Sunshine”.

In addition to her mom and dad, Kayla is survived by her siblings, Emily Snody, Madalynn Snody, Jacob Snody, Luke Snody, Benjamin Snody, Nathaniel Snody of the home; and Kadence Carter, Haven Carter, Allie Carter, Eli Carter, Autumn Carter, and Josephine Carter, all of Stoneville; the father of her Carter siblings, James Carter; her grandparents, Roy and Debra Slaughter and Teresa Hundley; her great grandmother, Gladys Gantt; an abundance of loved aunts, uncles, cousins and one nephew.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Frank and Effie Snody and her great grandparents, Billy Gantt, Roy Slaughter, Sr., Anna Slaughter, and Jimmy and Carleen Hundley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boone & Cooke Funeral Home to assist with the funeral expenses.
