Kay Hall of Reidsville passed away on October 15, 2023.
She is survived by her son, Eric Apple, daughter-in-law, Karin Apple and her grandchildren, Caden and Elin, all of Redlands, CA. Also surviving are her sisters, Amy Boone of Elon and Brenda Walker of Reidsville, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Kathleen Hall and her brother, Bobby Hall.
Kay loved her friends and family and spent most of her life in the immediate area of Reidsville and Rockingham County. For many years, you could find Kay’s warm welcome and gentle voice welcoming patients at the dental offices of Dr. Rivers Upchurch and later Dr. Bill Kallam.
Kay adored her family. She was so proud of her son Eric. She thought Caden and Elin hung the moon. Their visits were always her most treasured highlights and her visits to California were some of her greatest adventures.
Kay loved all animals and in more recent years she treasured her cats – each with their own distinct personalities. She cherished her time and was passionate about reading, painting, gardening, and entertaining with friends and family. Kay was always the “family photographer”, who loved capturing photos of family events and sharing with those who weren’t able to attend.
Kay was fiercely independent, generous to a fault, and had a sometimes mischievous sense of humor. She had big hair and a bigger heart, and will be sorely missed by all that were lucky enough to love her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming months, on a date to be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you pass forward Kay’s kindness, unconditional love and support to your family, friends and acquaintances, and also consider donating in Kay’s memory to an animal shelter or rescue group of your choice.
