Obituary: KATINA RENAE THOMPSON

Ms. Katina Renae Thompson departed this life on Tuesday morning, July 12, 2022. 

She was a native of Rockingham County, North Carolina and a resident of Charlotte for the past 15 years.  Katina attended the local public schools and was a former employee of Habitat for Humanity.  Spiritually, she was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ.  Possessing an angelic and harmonious voice, she used her talent to sing at various churches and events throughout the community.  She enjoyed decorating flowers, styling hair, traveling and of course, singing during her leisure. 

Her grandparents, Elsie Canty and Emanuel Canty; uncles, James Canty, David Thompson and Norman Cobb, preceded her in death. 

Survivors are: son, Trisan Thompson; beloved parents, Ella Ray Thompson and Fredrick Siddle; step-father, William Martin, Sr. (Delsie); grandmother, Daisy Alston; great-grandmother, Virginia Rone;  sisters, Angel Martin and Shenele Ramey; brothers, William Martin, Jr. (Sierra) and Anthony Jackson;  aunts, Martha Simmons, Frances Lee, Ethel Juarez (Andres), Ella Ann Keesee, Diane Leake (John) and Clara Bell Thompson; special cousins, Tasha Thompson, Jackie Nicholson (Timmy), Vickie Carr Mc Kinnon (Aaron) and Lorenzo Thompson; additional aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022 from the Cornerstone Christian Center, 516 North Scales Street with Bishop Ron Flacks, Jr. presiding.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
