Obituary: KATIE SUE CARTER FARRISH

Mrs. Katie Sue Carter Farrish, the beloved wife of William Farrish, departed this life on Sunday afternoon, January 7, 2024.

She was a native of Alamance County and a resident of Rockingham County for the majority of her life. Attending the local public schools, she was a graduate of Reidsville Senior High School, Class of 1974 and was a former employee of the Cone Mills Corporation. During her leisure, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, socializing, watching westerns on television, playing bingo, cards and following her favorite football team – The Dallas Cowboys.

Her father, Robert Lee Carter; brother, David Rone; longtime companion, Percy James Ross; special friends, Pam Brim and Janice Fields, preceded her in death.

Survivors are: husband, William Farrish; daughters, Penny Carter Mills, Min. Tonya Farrish and Tarri Farrish; beloved mother, Clara Fuller Carter; grandchildren, Aaron Carter (Keenan), Marcus Hayes, Keaunna Farrish, E’monie Graves (Jhandrel), Najee Ewing, Tauriyona Moore (Shanesyha), Cameron Mills, Shamar Scales, Tahiyah Jacobs and Tahiry Jacobs; great-grandchildren, Kingston, Nyree, Nala, Jy’mire and Major; siblings, Shirley S. Graves, Clara Chandler (Lorenzo), Edward Carter (Barbara), Apostle James Carter (Cynthia), Elder Robert Carter (Gloria), Johnny Carter, Sara Moreaux, Frankie Carter, Mark Carter and Dorothy Carter; special family, Tierra Thomas, Angel Graves and Jerome Siddle; devoted friends, Miranda Martin, Brenda Dawkins and Louetta Moore; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024 from the Smyrna Church of Christ, 1025 Mizpah Church Road with Bishop Allen C. Harrison presiding and Apostle James H. Carter, the eulogist. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Public viewing will be Friday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
