Katie Doss Talley, age 86, passed away Tuesday night, May 9, 2023, at Jacob’s Creek Nursing & Rehab Center in Madison.
Per Katie’s request, there will be no formal service.
Katie was born December 7, 1936 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Dallas William Doss and Mae Owens Doss. She was a retired assistant manager of the Madison ABC Store. Katie worked there for 20 years.
She is survived by her son, Marshall Talley (Heather); two grandchildren, Brenna Talley Yates (Bobby) and Harley Talley; two great-grandchildren, Greyson Stone and Mylah Grey Yates; brother, Charles Doss and sisters, Pauline Vaden, Patsy Murray and Sandy Tilley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Marshall Talley; four brothers, five sisters and four additional infant siblings.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison is serving the family.
