Kathie George McKinney, 69, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Born on March 6, 1956, Kathie was a lifelong North Carolinian whose warmth and kindness touched many. She was a proud graduate of North Stokes High School and Forsyth Technical Community College.
Kathie was employed by Piedmont Airlines, US Airways, and later at Triad Radiology. She had a deep love for her work family and cherished the relationships she built over the years. Her positive spirit, dedication, and sense of humor made her a light in every workplace she joined.
Kathie’s strong faith in Christ was the foundation of her life. She found comfort, purpose, and strength in her relationship with God, and her quiet devotion was reflected in the love she showed to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Alma George.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted son Matthew McKinney (Erika), her beloved sister Linda Gibson (David), her treasured granddaughters Amelia and Hazel McKinney, and her dear niece Rebecca Gibson (Doug).
The family would also like to extend thanks to the unwavering dedication to those who assisted in caring for her during the last two years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or The Novant Health Cancer Institute – Forsyth in Kathie’s honor.
