On behalf of the Madison Police Department, it is with deep sadness to have to report the passing of MPD K9 Murphy. This unexpected passing happened suddenly July 3rd, 2023, at the home of handler Lieutenant Bryan Patterson.
A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. in the Ray Funeral Home Chapel.
K9 Murphy began his service in law enforcement in 2016 and has worked as a K9 for the city of Reidsville and currently for the past three years for Madison police department. With the aid of his handler K9 Murphy was an outstanding officer and words cannot explain the sadness we feel from his passing.
K9 Murphy has certifications with Law Enforcement Canine Association, Eastern States Working Dog Association, and Highland Canine Training LLC.
K9 Murphy has trained along with some of the best trainers around and handlers.
Murphy has had several advanced training courses such as K9 Law and Order, High Point Canine Solutions, Cobra Canine and many more.
Murphy was more than a Dog, more than a Cop, even more than a partner He was completely different. You would have to truly know Murph to understand this.
