June Marie Harris, 94, of Eden, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 27, 2023 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Victory Baptist Church in Eden with burial to follow at Dan View Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10-11am, at Victory Baptist Church. A meal will be provided by the Church for family and friends following the committal.
June was born June 18, 1928, to the late Grover Harris and Lucy Rae. She grew up in Draper and graduated from Draper High School in 1945 as the class valedictorian. June attended Kings Business College in Greensboro, NC, and, upon graduation, accepted employment with Fieldcrest Mills as an executive secretary to numerous mill managers including Norman Young and Mike Dineen.
Upon retirement from Fieldcrest, June spent her time volunteering in the local schools her grandsons attended and never missed a ball game or band concert. She enjoyed reading and volunteering at her church. She loved her church, her family, and her hometown. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was an example to her children of how to live a Christ led life. She spent a lifetime doing and caring for others.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Lucy; her sisters, Goldie Harris Ziglar and Ruth Harris Foster; and brother-in-law, Jake Vann Ziglar.
Surviving are her children, Vann Ziglar (Genny), Lou Berrier (Alan); grandchildren, Nathan Ziglar of Eden, Stephen Ziglar (Kristine) of Prattville, Alabama, Holly Berrier and Heather Berrier, both of Eden; great-grandchild, Alyssa Berrier; special nieces, Norma Jane Foster and Ruth Ann Foster.
June had many wonderful neighbors who cared for her. In addition, she was blessed with two very special caregivers, Barbara Carter and Kyeisha Dalton, who loved and cared for her, for which we are eternally grateful.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Victory Baptist Church, 2040 East Stadium Dr, Eden, NC 27288.
Online condolences may be left for the family at www.fairfuneralhome.com.
