Obituary: JUNE BIGGS BROWN

June Biggs Brown, 91, passed away Thursday, August 1st, at Jacob’s Creek Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 4th at 2:00pm in the Fair Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be in the Chapel one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery.

June was born June 2, 1933 to the late Berkley Frank Almond and Hattie Riddle Almond in Rockingham County. June worked for Eden News Office as a receptionist. She was a volunteer for Hospice, and she loved playing cards with friends, going on Senior trips, she was a member of the Senior Friends Club, and the Red Hat Society. June also loved spending time at the beach in Emerald Isle. She was a lifelong charter member of Kings Highway Christian Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her son’s Michael Biggs (Jetta) and Tim Biggs (Diana) both of Eden; daughter, Toni Bullins (Steve McCollum) of Stoneville; grandchildren, Jamie Hizer of Greensboro, Michelle Horton, Monica Woods, Joe Bullins II, all of Eden, Holly Biggs, of South Port; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Along with her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, James Frederick Biggs, and her second husband, Garner C. Brown, Sr., her daughter Tamara Biggs and special sister-in-law, Sylvia Scott
