Juanita Monsees Talley received the greatest Christmas gift of all on Saturday, December 23 and is now healed, reunited with relatives, and rejoicing in the presence of our Lord.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Evergreen Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will see friends 5:30 to 7:30 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Citty Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
She was born May 5, 1923, to Clarence and Lula Talley; the 2nd of 4 children. She graduated from Reidsville Senior High, and was voted Best Dancer of her senior class.
She married John Hilton Monsees on November 27, 1946, and they had one daughter, Lynn. She was a very talented seamstress. Her other hobby was bowling, and later in life, jigsaw puzzles.
Nita worked for the Employment Security Commission, the Reidsville Police Department, Trent’s Record Center, and in the office of Chase Bag Company.
She was a charter member of Faith Christian Church, serving on several committees until her health no longer allowed. She was also a member of the Reidsville Fire Department Ladies’ Auxilliary.
She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Edith Hester and brother Clarence E. Talley, Jr. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Lynn Carter (Ray), grandson Nolan Monsees Carter (Kelsey), and great-grandson Howard “Howie” Monsees Carter, in addition to her sister Peggy T. Rice, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
