Joseph Earl “Sonny” Dove, 85, of Burlington formerly of Ruffin, went to be with the Lord Thursday November 28, 2024 at his home after a lengthy illness.
A native of Caswell County, Sonny was a son of the late Joseph Willard and Alma Hall Dove and had lived in Burlington since 2020.He was a former fireman for the Reidsville Fire Department and a retired letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Reidsville. Sonny was a US Air Force Veteran. and attended St. Mark’s Community Church in Burlington. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Helen Neal Apple, and Virginia D. Tuttle, and his brother Junior Dove.
Survivors include: his son: William Ronald “Ronnie Dove (Oddete) of Burlington, brother: James Dove of Ruffin, and grandchildren: Renee Dove, Samantha Dove and numerous family and friends.
