Obituary: JOHNNIE CORNELIUS KENNON

Johnnie “JC” Cornelius Kennon, 90, of Reidsville, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 24, 2025, while at home with his loving and caring wife by his side.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Jones and Rev. David Bray officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mount Carmel Church Cemetery and the Rockingham County Honor Guard will perform Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Johnnie was born June 5, 1934, in Reidsville, NC to the late Johnnie Robert Kennon and Elsie Moore Kennon. Johnnie was the owner and operator of M & J enterprise Trucking. He was in the logging business for over 50 years until he retired in 2011. He really loved and enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and, more than anything else, he enjoyed being with and traveling to different places with his wife, Mae.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Kennon, of the home for 25 years; children, Linda Edwards, David Kennon (Rita), Mike Kennon (Carolyn), Donnie Ray Kennon and Mark Edwards (Cindy); 13 grandchildren including his special grandson, John Edwards; 29 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, John Wayne Kennon.
