John Dillard Robertson, 82, died on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
A celebration of his life will be announced in the coming days.
Mr. Robertson was born on February 23, 1942 in Stuart, Virginia to the late Emmett Charles Robertson and Louise Pearl Norris Robertson. John was a dedicated and hard working man who spent his career at Southern Finishing. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his job. Outside of work, John enjoyed gardening and was considered an exceptional Crappie Fisherman, often regarded as the best in the world.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Sharon Renée Newcomb and Jessica Lea Robertson; son-in-law, Chuck Newcomb and brother, Bobby Eugene Robertson.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Virginia Robertson; son, Jason Robertson (Tanya); adopted son, Billy Waddell; grandchildren, Amanda Moore (Jonathan), Jacob Robertson, Erica Robertson, Skyla Shelton, Blake Ford and Hunter Gauldin (Katlyn); seven great-grandsons, Keyon, Charlie, Ryan, Jackson, Emmett, Joseph and Knox and sister, Mary Ann Land (Jimmy).
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
