John Clifford Trier, Jr. passed away on March 17, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital.

John was the only child of John Cliffton and Rose Trier and a Veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid history buff and loved the outdoors especially hunting and target shooting. His greatest enjoyment was keeping fit by going to the Reidsville YMCA. Some of his famous quotes were, “Go play in the traffic”, “How’s it going kid?”, “You don’t need that.” And when it came to the lottery, his words were, “Gotta be in it to win it” also he was forever optimistic that he’d hit the “Big One.”

John leaves behind his wife of 56 years Jacqueline Trier: three daughters April Dudley (Michael), Stacey Pomeroy (Gary) and Kristine Ebbe (Steve): four grandchildren Nathan, Alivia Maggie and Crystal: brother’s-in-law Patrick Seely and Robert Seely.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
