Johanna Lynn Fuquay Phillips, 45, of Winston Salem, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at her home.

There will be no formal service.

Johanna was born in Rockingham County on April 19, 1977, to the late Danny Fuquay and Betty White Fuquay. Johanna was a precious soul with a heart of gold and a vastly creative mind. The people she loved most in the world were her children and she loved fiercely, and she was their Mama duck. She just didn’t mother her own children; Johanna was affectionately known as Mama Jo. Her nieces and nephews along with many surrogate kids were shown the same love and affection as her own children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jane Fuquay and Buck and Ruth Marshall.

Those left to cherish his memory are her children, William Austin Fuquay (Shauna) of Madison, WI, Noah Andrew Phillips (Hayley) of Havelock, NC, Marsean Abraham Phillips of Havelock, NC, and Jocelyn Aleigha Phillips of Havelock, NC; her sister, Betty Jo Harris (Jeff) of Stoneville; nephew, Jeffrey Harris (Lauren); niece, Brook Harris (Skyler); her aunt, Lyn Prince; and her surrogate son, Curran Brisbose.

Ray Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Johanna Phillips and all are invited to share memories or offer condolences at www.rayfuneralhome.com.
