Obituary: JOEY WAYNE MABE

Joey Wayne Mabe, 53, of Madison, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Ancora Compassionate Care.

Born in Rockingham County to Billy Ray and Zara Dillon Mabe, Joey was a hardworking man who spent his career as a mechanic until retirement. He loved the beach, the outdoors, his tractors, and was rarely seen wearing shoes.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother, Zara Mabe; daughters, Kayla Mabe (Daniel) of Madison and Kassidy Mabe of Mayodan; brother, Doug Mabe of Madison; and his beloved granddaughter, Emma Mabe.

An 11:00 a.m. graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rudy Woods officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, June 6, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Terry Funeral and Cremation Service.
