Joan Alderman Ritts, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, entered eternal rest Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center at the age of 74.
Born December 13, 1950, in Barnstable, Massachusetts, Joan resided in Stokes County since 2007. Her greatest joy was making others happy. She was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Joan enjoyed time with her friends and animals.
Mrs. Ritts was preceded in death by her parents, Zenas Ray Alderman and Shirley Hoose Alderman; daughter, Crystal Coplin; brother, Ray Alderman and sister, Linda Lecvarcic.
Survivors include her husband, William Ritts; sons, William Hulbert, Everett Hulbert, and Jacob Ritts; daughter, Kate Ritts Claytor; eight grandchildren, David Coplin, Chantz Coplin, Victoria Hulbert, Alexis Hulbert, Heather Hulbert, Wyatt Hulbert, Arabella Ritts, Charlotte Claytor, and two great-grandchildren, Grayson Coplin and Michael Coplin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
The family extends their appreciation to the staff at Forsyth Medical Center for their support during Joan’s final days.
Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
