Mr. Jiles Carter, Jr. was born in Wake County on January 15, 1961, to the late Jiles and Doris Lee Carter. He passed away on October 18, 2024.

During his lifetime, Mr. Carter held various professions including working in a factory, construction, welding, and cooking. He was known as a skilled handyman who was always ready to help those in need, especially his family and loved ones. He took great joy in teaching his nieces and nephews many of the skills he had acquired. Mr. Carter had a great sense of humor and was loved by many who knew him as Uncle Skip.

He is survived by his daughters Tanneshia (Bethel) Kellam of Collinsville, VA, and Ivy Teresa Hines of El Paso, TX. Additionally, he is survived by his grandchildren Tracy Witcher, Makalya Kellam, and Jaylen Kellam of Collinsville, VA, and Terryon Christian Middleton II of El Paso, TX. He is also survived by his sisters Glenda Carter of McLeansville, NC, Mary (Garland) Martin of Walnut Cove, NC, Arlisa Carter of Cary, NC, and brothers Patrick (Tara) Carter, Sr. of Atlanta, GA, Harry (Argentina) Carter, Sr. of Eden, NC, and Michael Ford of Madison, NC, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Nancy R. Carter.

A 1:00 p.m. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Ray Funeral Home with Dr. Patrick Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
