Obituary: JERRY MURPHY

Mr. Jerry Murphy, age 63, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Annie Penn Hospital.
Public viewing will begin on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 12 until 8 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.
The committal and interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Jerry was born in Caswell County, NC on January 1, 1961 to John Murphy and Kay Henderson Murphy.
He was educated in the Caswell County Schools System and graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School, class of 1980.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing. He was a diehard Duke fan and loved the Francisco 49ers.
For many years he worked in landscaping.
He was a member of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John “June” Murphy and Kay Murphy; brother, Alfonza Murphy.
Survivors include wife, Carol Hall-Murphy; daughters, Chantell Hall and Erika Hall; grandchildren, Jalayiah Thornton, Jason Thornton, Talaila Gattis, Tyrus Morrow, Sr., Tyrus Morrow, Jr., and Jerry Murphy; brothers, Andrew Murphy (Evon), Ardie Murphy (Audrey) and Hubert Murphy (Stacey); sisters, Donna Pinchback (Tony), Virginia Herbin (Ricky) and Tarsha Jackson (Anthony); brothers-in-law, Douglas Hall, Jr., Charles Hall; sister-in-law, Felicia Hall; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
